48" Galvanized Tension Bar For Chain Link Fences
48" Galvanized Tension Bar For Chain Link Fences
When it comes to building chain link fences, that old saying "appearances can be deceiving" is occasionally true. This 48" Galvanized Tension Bar might appear to be nothing more than a thin sheet of metal, but it is essential for providing the tension needed for strong fence panels. Please note: Before installing tension bars into your chain link fabric, verify that your fence's terminal posts have been fitted with tension bands.
Once all terminal posts (again, with tension bands installed), line posts, and top rails have been installed, it is time to attach the chain link fabric to your fence. To do so, unroll the fabric and stand up one end up against the nearest terminal post. While holding the fabric in place, carefully slide the tension bar vertically through all of the tension bands—as well as the "knuckles" at the end of your fabric. Do the same with the next terminal post at the opposite end of the fabric. The tension provided by the bands and bars will stretch your fabric, thereby preventing humans and animals from simply lifting the chain link and crawling under.
Two tension bars are required for each stretch of chain link fabric. Install a bar at every corner, end, and gate post. This 48" Galvanized Tension Bar is designed for 4' chain link fences. It is made of galvanized steel, which allows for superior rust resistance. Having this tension bar will not only increase the strength of your fence but also boost its longevity.
- Use with tension bands at each end of wire at terminal posts
- Corrosion resistant
- Sturdy steel construction

Instructions
Once you have installed your post, framework and top rail, you will take the end of the chain link fabric and place it up to the terminal post. Start at the top of the chain link fabric and insert the tension bar down through the bands and the weave of the chain link until you get to the bottom. You will then tighten all the tension and end bands to hold the tension bar in place.
