Follow the two charts above to identify your fittings and install them in accordance with the instructions below:

  1. Begin by slipping the tension bands onto the fence posts with the flat side facing outward. Typically, one tension band is needed per foot of fence. Always start with the first band about 6 inches from the bottom of the fence, leaving room for end bands and other fittings that will be discussed later. Space the remaining tension bands evenly apart.
  2. The end band should be slipped on last, and positioned approximately 3 inches down from the top of the posts.
  3. Insert the rail end tab between the end band, with the cup side facing down as indicated in the details. In the case of a corner post assembly, one rail end should be inserted with the cup side up and the other with the cup side down to ensure that the adjoining top rails are aligned.
  4. Be careful not to spread or distort the bands, as this could prevent the bolt holes from lining up properly later on. Install 5/16" x 1 1/4" nuts and bolts through the bands, with the carriage head facing out, and hand-tighten only.
  5. Finally, install the loop caps (figure 8) on top of the line posts, making sure they are turned so that the top rail can slide down the fence line through the caps, with the flat side facing outward.
